There are teeny tiny flecks of shimmer in the powder, which I'll be honest, threw me off at first, but now I really appreciate it since I can see how it helps add to the illuminating and diffusing quality. I also find it really does help brighten and diminish the look of my very dark circles. I will admit - there is very slight creasing at the end of the day (because I have lots of fine lines under my eyes - sigh) but this does as good of a job as it possibly can. If you can get your hands on this one, do give it a try.The Secret Brightening Powder has been the only powder I've found (so far) that really prevents creasing under my eyes while also brightening the area up. Yes, the price is on the higher side, but with the tiny amount I use every day, this jar may take a whole year to finish or may be more. The formula is simply iconic, and Laura Mercier took things one step further by formulating a powder designed specifically for brightening under eyes. That not-so-little pot has saved many an oily-skinned damsel in distress. If you want an extremely brightening and highlighting powder, then this is not for you. Laura Mercier's Translucent Setting Powder has been a holy grail for many for well over a decade now. I am not a fan of that few shades lighter than your skin tone, very bright under eye area look, so this powder works great for me as it is very sheer. It makes me look awake and somewhat less tired. Whenever I use this powder, there is no creasing of my under eye concealer. You have to be very careful with the amount you use a little goes a long way with this. In sunlight, you can see very fine shimmer particles in it, but there is no glitter in it. It has the light reflecting micronized pigments which give very sheer highlighting effect.
